Holiday Apartments on Lake Constance

Lake Constance is really several holiday regions in one: lakeside promenades, lidos and boat piers on one side, and a gently rolling hinterland of orchards, hop gardens and half-timbered towns on the other. A holiday apartment suits this variety well – you have breakfast when you like, cook with fruit from the farm shop, and have room for bikes, children and luggage. On the northern shore between Friedrichshafen and Lindau we rent out 28 apartments in four towns, all bookable directly with no portal fees and instant confirmation.

Which town is right for you? If you want the water in the morning and the promenade in the evening, stay in Friedrichshafen: many of our 20 apartments are in the Fischbach district, with the lake, the lido and Fischbach's own railway stop within walking distance, and the trade fair grounds and Zeppelin Museum close by. A few kilometres inland you stay more quietly and often at better value – in Markdorf with its half-timbered old town and the Gehrenberg hill, or in Oberteuringen on the Rotach river, where our holiday houses Apfelblüte and Bodensee sleep up to 18 guests each. Tettnang, finally, is the hop town with three castles, a lively small town between the lake and the Allgäu.

Getting around Lake Constance works well without a car: the lakeside railway links Friedrichshafen hourly with Lindau and Radolfzell, the catamaran reaches Konstanz in around 52 minutes, the ferry crosses to Romanshorn in Switzerland, and in Meersburg the car ferry takes a quarter of an hour to Konstanz. The Lake Constance cycle path runs for around 260 kilometres right along the shore. Best time to visit: May to September for swimming, orchard blossom in April and May, and apple harvest with clear views of the Alps in autumn.
